Nice write up, Tara. You have a winning way with words. Interestingly, the features you hope will be part of the iPod are already in place with the Palm device. So, I suppose the important thing to recall is that the iPod is well-designed, and seems less of an "organizer" than a fun-filled entertainment device. WHAT the devices do is not quite so important as how we PERCEIVE what they do to be... This became clear to me when Mike Wu described how much less "clunky" the Palm device seemed than the previous invention - a date book with a noisy buzzer alarm attached. No one wanted to be seen with one of those! I don't doubt that your idea will soon be do-able - in fact, it may already be on the new Palm generation devices.
