This would be an interesting map to try to use. I can see the class following your instructions, and even the instructions being spread out - treasure hunt style - on location, so each time you reach the right spot, you find another instruction. How to adapt this to the PDA? In developing a "recipe" for this, you might consider bold colour screens, audio files, text instructions and other easy-to-read and hear "clues". as if your poster is a set of clues accessed through the PDA. Interesting work! By the way, I do like the poster as it is.
Colour can be a powerful memory cue, so this concept is right on. I like the playful aspect of the map, it would be great for kids with the addition of pictures or pictograms.
