I Spy With My Little Map - By Anthony Payne

With my map I wanted to go with more of a playful way of finding your way from OCAD's 6th floor to St. Patrick subway station. I decided to play an 'I SPY' game to guide your way through the trip. Simply follow the instructions and get on your way.

This would be an interesting map to try to use. I can see the class following your instructions, and even the instructions being spread out - treasure hunt style - on location, so each time you reach the right spot, you find another instruction. How to adapt this to the PDA? In developing a "recipe" for this, you might consider bold colour screens, audio files, text instructions and other easy-to-read and hear "clues". as if your poster is a set of clues accessed through the PDA. Interesting work! By the way, I do like the poster as it is.

Colour can be a powerful memory cue, so this concept is right on. I like the playful aspect of the map, it would be great for kids with the addition of pictures or pictograms.
